Claustral Canyon
Intermediate Canyoning (as seen on TV's Getaway!!!)

Claustral as the name suggests has an atmosphere of intrigue, it is a challenging journey beside the fertile basalt slopes of Mt Tomah. A short bushwalk over the Camels Hump and down into a rainforest environment slots us into the day.

The excitement soon begins, following the meandering water tract through Dismal Dingle (Caley 1804) down to the Black-Hole of Calcutta.

A multi-pitch, 3 stage abseil into refreshing plunge pools in a dark cavernous slot with a gushing waterfall spraying around you. Once off the third abseil its an invigorating swim to a sandy bank for a short break before the notorious rock hops. Opportunity to view glow worms and a cathedral of reflections.

Claustral canyon is extensive. Enroute are a number of small climb-downs, water jumps and boulders to be negotiated, each requiring a carefully chosen route down.

A good fun canyon full of rock scrambling, exciting abseils, narrow chasms and refreshing swims. Keeping your senses on edge whilst challenging yourself physically. The exit via Rainbow Ravine is demanding, yet exhilarating.... once you reach the top!

Tigersnake Canyon
Dry canyon, great year round

Isolated views into Capertee are glimpsed before we descend into a serene valley with trickling creeks and massive pagodas standing on guard. Here we set up our first of four abseils and enter Tigersnake Canyon proper.

Involved is a number of down-climbs ad abseils. The highlight of the trip is abseiling into a natural cavern where sunlight shafts of light illuminate the beautiful sandstone walls.

Deep Pass Canyon
An eco-bushwalk into an historic valley!

Venture from the valley Rim down to the canyon base, investigating a intricately weather-worn canyon which becomes cool, narrow and constricted, rock hopping and gingerly stepping past crystal clear pools. Its diverse history involves Aboriginal art and remnants of pioneering life in this guarded fertile valley.

Fresh babbling brooks meander through the natural mountain pass where we explore caves and chasms that have been sculpted deep into the sandstone beds. Gain insight to the ecosystem observing yabbies, Lyrebirds, goannas and abundant wildflowers in a tranquil oasis with professional guides. Opportunity exists to swim or rest contentedly.
