Wollangambe Canyon Li-low / Airbed Rafting - Canyoning!

The Wollangambe River has cut deeply into the soft sandstone forming a beautiful open canyon system where over millions of years sediments have abraded the soft walls and stream bed. The Canyon includes open forest bushwalking, caves, overhangs and narrow chasms interlinking deep clear pools.

A remarkable bushwalk through diverse eco systems takes us down into the canyon environment. Here gear is waterproofed, wetsuits fitted and airbeds are inflated in tranquil surrounds.

Soon the resounding splash and exclamations of delight echo back as you develop varied techniques of paddling along the canyon on your air bed lilo.

Stretch out past towering sandstone escarpments with cool fern-lined pools mirroring brilliant Australian skies.
Several blockages are negotiated as is a fascinating cave extending deep into the cliffline.
A healthy picnic Lunch is enjoyed in the Canyon, before further exploration, scrambling and long pools in narrow chasms are overcome. The exit is initially a steep climb through the cliff-line and then solid uphill walk along the Norther Firetrail to reach Mount Wilson Fire Station and vehicles to finish the day.

Enjoy Sydney's best kept secret - white-water Li-Low Rafting! Aptly described as 'Splash and Splendour' a uniquely Australian thing to do.

Enter a remote gorge, only 1hr escape from Sydney in the lower Blue Mountains. A short bushwalk through native forest with stunning views takes us down to the waters edge. On white sandy banks we inflate single Li-Low rafts, water-proof gear and wetsuit up.

You soon get to enjoy paddling Li-Low rafts across crystal clear pools, to the first of many excellent cascades. Negotiating water-races, small rapids and drifting past overhanging caverns. Reflections of brilliant Ausralian skies outline towering sandstone cliffs. Eucalypts shade the sun where wildlife abounds, whilst cicadas chirp their song.

Devour a picnic lunch, then relax soaking up the sunshine floating downstream.
Before splashing back to reality with more great fun rapids and tranquil pools.

A short walk back up to the vehicles takes us onto the next adventure or stop to meet Kangaroos in the wild!
